Planet Fitness launches urban day spa
Singapore-based fitness chain, Planet Fitness, has launched an urban day spa.
Called Bodyworks, the 1000sq ft fitness spa is situated alongside one of the chain’s existing health clubs and will cater for both members and non-members of Planet Fitness. Therapists have been trained to incorporate fitness knowledge while providing spa consultations and a variety of treatments.
Managing director, Florence Tan, said: “It has been in our business module to offer holistic services that can help achieve overall fitness and body wellness. This is the right time for us to progress to the next phase by offering spa treatments that focus on re-energizing and balancing the body.”
Designed by French spa consultant Farida Brouwer, of Salamander Lifestyle, the spa is of contemporary design and features five treatment rooms, changing rooms and showers, private locker areas and a whispering lounge – a calm and comforting area where guests can chill out before and after treatments.
As well as offering traditional massages including shiatsu, Swedish and aromatherapy, Bodyworks will also offer scrubs, wraps and facials. All skincare products will be 100 per cent natural marine, botanical or aromatherapy formulas, by either Phytomer or Nuxe.
Planet Fitness currently owns three health clubs in Singapore. It is the first health club chain to enter the stand-alone day spa market. Details: +65 6235 9622
