Plans for a community sports facility in Kelty
Despite having to make cost savings of £66m over the next three years, Fife Council is planning to invest in sport and leisure facilities in Kelty, according to its draft budget.
The new community centre would provide an indoor sports hall for schools and the local community. It would be funded by an investment fund earmarked for the village, as well as cost savings which would be made by pooling the local community centres, library and council office in one location.
Council leader, Alex Rowley, says improvements in community facilities are long overdue. “It is important we strike a balance between making the cuts to balance the budget while investing in communities.”
