Plans scrapped for Leith art gallery
Plans for an art gallery in Leith, Scotland, have reportedly been scrapped after the Scottish Executive decided not to back it.
The gallery was to be the centre of a new cultural quarter in Edinburgh’s former docklands area, situated on the site of the former VA Tech building.
Architects RMJM had designed a scheme for a building with 160,000sq m (1.7million sq ft) of floor space would have housed the Anthony D’Offay art collection, recently acquired for the National Galleries of Scotland.
