Pleasurewood Hills bought by French operator
French theme park operator, Grévin & Cie, has obtained its first British site, after acquiring the New Pleasurewood Hills Park in Great Yarmouth.
Founded in 1983, the 50-acre Pleasurewood Hills attracted 250,000 visitors last year and had a turnover of 4.5m euros. Its rides include The Frisbee – introduced last year – and The Tidal Wave.
Grévin & Cies attracts around five million people to its 13 visitor attractions around Europe, which include the Parc Asterix in France, the Aquaparc in Switzerland and the Dolfinarium Hardewijk in the Netherlands.
Olivier de Bosredon, chair at Grévin & Cie, said: “Pleasurewood Hills’ personality, charm and local roots correspond well with our strategy.
“Regional parks are a key asset towards our goal of becoming a European leader in family entertainment.”
Theme park planning consultants, RPS, assisted Grévin & Clie in sourcing the undisclosed deal.
