Plopsa Indoor Coevorden to open in 2009
Plopsa, the theme park division of European television producer, Studio 100, is to open its first Dutch theme park next year at a Center Parcs holiday village near Coevorden.
Located next to Center Parcs' De Huttenheugte site, the 15,000sq m (161,459sq ft) attraction will be based on popular characters from Studio 100 productions, aimed at four to 11-year olds. The theme park will comprise a 10,000sq m (107,639sq ft) indoor element, and will add to the three existing Plopsa sites in Belgium. The park will have a capacity of 3,500 people, and hopes to attract 300,000 visitors a year.
Initial estimates suggested that the Plopsa Indoor Coevorden park would cost 15m euro (£11.8m) to build, but that figure has reportedy increased in the past year.
