Pontefract Park management under public consultation
Pontefract Park in Lancashire is the subject of a 10-year management plan to maximise and improve its use.
The long-term plan, which is currently available for public consultation, is created by Pontefract Park Race Company and Wakefield Council.
The facility currently boasts a nine-hole golf course, a boating lake with fishing facilities, tennis courts and sports pitches as well as woodland and wetland areas. Adjoining the park is also one of Europe's longest continuous circuit horse racecourses measuring two miles and 125 yards.
Councillor Clive Hudsom said: "Pontefract Park and Race Course is the largest urban park within the district and it's important that we make sure it is a desirable place to spend time.
"We know how important the park is for the area and want to know how people value the park and where they think there are areas for improvement."
The plans also define the management responsibilities allocated to the race company, other stakeholders and the council.
