Positive start to year for Restaurant Group
The Restaurant Group (TRG) – owner of the Garfunkel’s, Chiquito and Frankie & Benny’s chains – has announced its year-end results.
In the 12 months to 31 December 2006, pre-tax profit rose 18.5 per cent to £35m and revenue increased 9.6 per cent to £314.7m from £287.3m the previous year.
In addition, the first nine weeks of this year have shown like for like sales increase by 5 per cent.
CEO Andrew Page said: “Our marketplace remains buoyant and 2007 has started well. We will open between 30 and 35 new restaurants in 2007 and look forward to making further good progress during the coming year.”
