Precor has announced Justin Smith as head of UK – a new position created as part of the recent restructure to consolidate and redefine the business.

Precor hopes that its new UK chief can drive the business forward in line with the re-tuned strategy. The 44-year-old Smith, who was previously regional sales manager at Technogym, takes up the new role in September.

Smith will arrive with a wealth of experience, having worked in the industry for 21 years across a broad base of both operator and supplier positions. These include country manager for Icon Health and Fitness, where he managed all aspects of the UK business and a large team across B2B and B2C sales, as well as Technogym, Trixter, Meridian Leisure, Rank Leisure and Force 10 Fitness.

“Precor has a history of delivering industry-changing firsts in its product innovations and so I am excited to be joining the company during this period of growth and change, which will enable me to develop the business further, ensuring Precor retains its strong hold within the UK market place,” said Smith.

Precor has reported revenue growth during Q2 of 2015, buoyed by a number of wins in the hospitality sector, including a recent contract with Shire Hotels. It is hoping for a strong finish to 2015, ahead of a number of new product innovations coming to market throughout 2016.

“We are excited to welcome Justin to the team. We have restructured the way we operate and are now in a position to roll out and deliver our strategy of change," said Domenico Speciale, MD of Amer Sports UK (Precor’s parent company).

"Justin has been brought in to lead the UK team and build upon their strong performance, ensuring we continue to deliver the seamless end-to-end customer service that we, as a company, are known for and pride ourselves upon.”
