Fitness equipment supplier Precor is partnering with budget club operator easyGym to offer its members personalised entertainment packages.

The packages will be delivered by Precor using its networked fitness software Preva and its 880 line of CV equipment.

Members at the new easyGyms in Birmingham and Cardiff will be offered the chance to upgrade their membership to include the Preva Media Package, which includes access to a wide range of media - including TV, ipod connectivity and internet access - while exercising.

Precor is part of Finland-based Amer Sports Corporation, which includes other internationally recognised brands such as Wilson, Atomic, Suunto and Salomon.

easyGym's new £1.5m Birmingham covers 20,000sq ft and adding to a range of Precor kit also houses large free-weights, cardio and resistance areas. There is also a full group exercise studio offering an extensive class timetable.

easyGym Cardiff is a 18,000 sq ft site based in the city's Capitol Shopping Centre, which opened at the end of December.

Birmingham and Cardiff are the third and fourth easyGym sites to launch, following the success of its other gyms in London and Slough, with ambitious growth plans to open a further 10 gyms per year for the next five years in the UK, as well as additional plans to expand throughout Europe.
