Preferred Hotels has launched a luxury boutique hotel in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India.

The 62-bedroom hotel - which is part the Preferred Boutique brand and is called Suryagarh, Jaisalmer - is owned by family firm, MRS Hospitality.

The hotel offers ballrooms, conference rooms and outdoor facilities for corporate and social events.

Suryagarh, Jaisalmer is influenced by the famous Jaisalmer Fort, which was built in 1156 and is one of the largest forts in the world.

Manvendra Shekhawat, managing director of MRS, said: "It was my family's prime endeavour to place Jaisalmer on the map of luxury travel in Rajasthan, and India as a whole. Hence the creation of Suryagarh was conceptualised, accentuating an authentic Jaisalmer Fort experience."
