South Wales-based timber company Premier Forest Products has branched out into the film industry.

One of the UKs leading independent importers and distributors of timber and sheet materials, the company has been supplying products to Pinewood Studios, Shepperton and Elstree Studios.

It has just discovered that it has inadvertently been providing wood for stage sets and props for films such as James Bond, Harry Potter, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and Lord of the Rings, plus the tv hospital drama, Casualty.

Premier director, Nigel Williams, said: "The supply of soft wood and sheet materials isn't really what you'd consider a glamorous trade, so we've welcomed the injection of a bit of Hollywood excitement - even if it is by default.

"It is however testament to the quality of the products that we supply that the end applications are so varied."

Premier imports softwoods, Brazilian, Far Eastern and Chinese plywoods, Russian softwood and Birch plywood, specialist lightweight plywood, MDF, chipboard and fibreboard.
