President: Argentina to build Falklands museum
Argentinian president Cristina Fernandez has announced that a new museum is to be built at a former naval school in honour of soldiers who died during the 1982 Falklands War.
Fernandez said the museum, which will reportedly cost US$20m (£12.7m, EUR15.2m), will open next August and will remember marines killed in the sinking of the General Belgrano.
The announcement comes amid escalating tensions between Argentina and the UK ahead of the war's 30th anniversary next month, with both laying claim to the South Atlantic islands.
