Prince's Trust to oversee Bletchley Park refurbishment
The Prince's Regeneration Trust has been appointed to project manage the refurbishment of Bletchley Park, the former top secret WW2 code cracking centre near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, UK.
A grant of £460,000 has been awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund to carry out initial work on the project and consultants are to be appointed to obtain the listed building and planning consents necessary to submit a bid for an extra £4.1m of funding. Several areas of the site - run by the Bletchley Park Trust - will be restored, including some of the huts where code breaking took place during the war.
Ros Kerslake, chief executive of the Prince's Regeneration Trust said: "Our aim is to substantially increase the number of visitors to Bletchley Park by making Bletchley attractive and relevant to visitors of all ages and backgrounds." Pic: One of the Bletchley Park huts. Courtesy of Toby Oxborrow
