Probably the best sponsorship in the sporting world
Carlsberg-Tetley is the first official sponsor of the European Championships in Portugal 2004. The company has also secured the rights for the competition in 2008.
The Championships are watched in over 200 countries by seven billion people. Carlsberg-Tetley's package will cover 31 matches plus give the opportunity to develop products, internet rights through official sites and on-site branding and activity throughout the tournament.
Carlsberg-Tetley hopes to build on the success of Euro 2000; UK Carlsberg's sales increased by 48% during the tournament, sales of the brand in the take home sector rose by 307 per cent and grocers delivered a 773 per cent increase.
Managing director brands and sales, Doug Clysedale, says: 'The new deal extends our commitment to high profile sponsorships.'
