Project to celebrate Welsh castle's history
Illuminata 2010 - a 'unique digital light and sound spectacular' - is set to be held between 26 September and 8 October to celebrate the history of Caerphilly Castle, Wales.
The Welsh Assembly Government's historic environment agency, Cadw, is working with projection specialist Ross Ashton on the scheme, which aims to trace the castle's history from its construction in 1268. Illuminata 2010 will feature a number of acts outlining significant events and people in the history of Caerphilly Castle, which will culminate in an examination of its role in modern day Caerphilly.
A Welsh Assembly Government spokesperson said: "The castle's history will form the centrepiece of this unique digital light and sound spectacular which coincides with the Ryder Cup 2010 taking place in nearby Newport." Image: Britain On View
