Prolong the life of your linens with Miele
Proper care of towels, robes, down pillows and duvets will ensure lifelong beauty and performance. Cleaning of down bedding is essential to maintaining maximum loft and ensuring the long life of the product.
A good sized commercial machine is needed to wash bulky items, even accommodating Queen and King sized duvets. The washing cycle needs to rinse several times to remove all soap residue, then gently squeeze out excess water. The removal of all soap residue is very important in order for your duvet or pillow to loft properly after laundering. Specific programmes within Miele washing machines cater for this.
The drying process is equally important. Duvets should be dried in an extra capacity or commercial dryer, on low or medium heat. They need to be thoroughly dried, as dampness can lead to mildew, which will destroy your duvet or pillow. Feather and Down Pillows:
The Miele PW 6167 is an ideal machine for washing feather and down pillows. It features Miele's patented honeycomb drum which, thanks to its web-like sculptured surface finish, the drum creates a thin film of water on which laundry glides gently. During spinning, fibres are less likely to be pressed into the drum perforations, guaranteeing the even distribution of the natural fill. Simply wash on a delicate cycle with warm water and mild detergent. Synthetic/Hypoallergenic Products:
Extra care needs to be taken with hypoallergenic products; Miele’s PW 6167 can cater for your specific needs and requirements with a programme that can be tailored and set up within the intelligent Miele’s Profitronic M controls. The controls offer 199 settings, each machine coming fitted with standard programme packages for optimum efficiency whilst you can use the remaining slots to suit your specific requirements. In this case, Miele can set up a specific programme to give these products the extra special care they require. Down Blanket/Duvets:
Miele’s bedding programme, for washer-extractors with a load capacity above 10kg, produces thorough and dependable cleaning results and ensures gentle laundry care. Duvets and pillows, whether filled with down or synthetic material, can be machine-washed without the need to remove the filling, and then dried in a tumble dryer for a soft, bouncy finish. These tumble dryers are particularly suited to bulky laundry items such as bedding. They feature an airflow and temperature control system ‘Air Recycling Plus’ which optimises the drying process by controlling the proportion of air recycled. This is of particular benefit when reprocessing quilts and duvets with a natural filling of pure new wool, cashmere, camel hair or silk.
To meet certain application requirements, Miele offers wash programmes with a temperature of up to 90°C for bedding if required, selected programmes always start with a 40°C pre-wash. Ease of Use:
Let’s face it, some of these items are bulky and hard to get in and out of a washing machine. Miele have compensated for this with a drum autopositioning feature, which aligns the hatch with the clean side and the drum is locked in place. This obviates the need to rotate the drum by hand. Larger openings and an ideal loading height simplify and speed up loading and unloading. The wide door opening angle of the PW 6167 is 180°, offering personnel maximum freedom and space to work.
