Public display for £10.5m Pontypridd plans
Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) County Borough Council has revealed that plans for a £10.5m overhaul of Pontypridd town centre are to be put on display later this month.
An exhibition will be held at Unit Four of the Taff Vale Precinct between 29 September and 2 October, with members of the project team able to answer the queries of residents and businessdes. Maidenhead-based company Costain has been appointed by the local authority to deliver the Capita Glamorgan-designed project, which has received funding from the Welsh Assembly Government.
Plans include the creation of new public spaces and an overhaul of the town's streetscape, which it is anticipated will make Pontypridd a more 'attractive' place for residents and visitors. Paul Cannon, cabinet member for economic development and safer communities for RCT, said: "The public exhibition will provide visitors and residents the opportunity to view for themselves some of the exciting plans we already have in place to enhance the town centre."
