Public meeting over Corwen Pavilion future
Denbighshire County Council (DCC) is set to hold a public meeting to discuss the future of Corwen Pavilion, which was forced to close earlier this month.
The council closed the venue on 2 March due to "significant" health and safety concerns, but is now inviting local residents to attend the meeting on 8 April at Corwen Sports Pavilion. Council officials, including the leader and head of leisure services, will use the meeting to explain the reasons for the pavilion' closure, while also seeking to gather views on future plans.
A DCC spokesperson said: "This will be a chance for local residents to hear the reasons for the closure and to air their views. The council believes that the opinions of local residents are crucial in this debate about the future of their community. "The council is working with user groups to identify alternative venues for events which have been booked at the Pavilion. The majority of events have already been relocated. The council is offering to pay for any relocation costs incurred."
