Pure Gym to launch new Leicester club
Pure Gym, the low-cost health club operator, has announced that it is to open a new site in Leicester next month, following work to refurbish the city's former Sturgis Land Rover garage.
The garage site is to be transformed into the chain's latest location, which will feature 200 pieces of equipment such as the TRX Suspension Trainer and Bodycore platforms. Lance Armstrong's LIVESTRONG spin bikes - supplied by Matrix - will also form part of the new Pure Gym, along with more than 40 exercise classes.
The launch of the Leicester Pure Gym will add to the group's existing UK portfolio of 13 sites, with a further 11 due to open by the end of the year. Pure Gym managing director Peter Roberts said: "We believe everyone should be able to keep fit and healthy, so we have stripped away unnecessary facilities such as saunas, café bars and fluffy towels and have replaced them with all the latest kit.
"We truly believe that exercise should be enjoyable, which is why we do not tie people into a contract – keeping fit should not come with small print." Image: Peter Roberts, managing director of Pure Gym
