Quebecor Media nets arena management rights
Quebecor Media has announced that it has secured the naming and management rights to a new arena scheduled to open in Quebec City, Canada, in 2015.
The group confirmed that it had agreed a 25-year deal with the City of Quebec and aims for the venue to become a "hotbed" of sporting and cultural events. Quebecor Media has committed between CA$110-200m (£69.3-126m; EUR81.5-148.2m; US$113.1-205.7m) to secure the rights to the proposed Quebec City Arena.
"Things are happening, projects are multiplying and we are glad to be a part of it," said Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and chief executive officer of Quebecor Media."
