Quinlan acquires Jurys Inn for 1.17bn euro
The Jurys Inn division of Jurys Doyle Hotel Group has been acquired by Quinlan Private for 1.17bn euro (£792m).
Claridges owner Derek Quinlan emerged last week as the frontrunner in the race to buy the chain – which is owned by branches of the founding Doyle family – and beat Whitbread, Lydian Capital, Permira and JP McManus to secure the deal.
The Gallagher, Monaghan and Roche families took Jurys Doyle private in 2005 through their investment vehicle JDH Acquisitions.
Jurys Inn has 20 hotels in city centre locations in the UK and Ireland and has a further 10 planned.
The families will use the proceeds of the sale to make investments in a number of the Jurys Doyle Hotel Group’s remaining luxury hotels and recoup their original outlay.
