ROKA to open at Canary Wharf
Hospitality entrepreneurs Rainer Becker and Arjun Waney are to open London's second ROKA-branded restaurant in the financial district of Canary Wharf in October.
The 140-cover Japanaese-style restaurant's kitchen will be operated by head chef Yoshi Muranaka, while the interior has been designed by Noriyoshi Muramatsu of Japanese design firm Studio Glitt.
The Canary Wharf property will be Becker's and Waney's fourth ROKA restaurant, joining sites on London's Charlotte Street and properties in Hong Kong and Scottsdale, Arizona.
The pair also owns the ZUMA chain of Japanese restaurants, which operates sites in London's Knightbridge, Hong Kong, Istanbul and Dubai. A fifth ZUMA is planned for launch in Miami, Florida, later this year.
