Raffles celebrates Japanese opening
Raffles International is celebrating the opening of its first hotel in Japan.
The Swissotel Nankai Osaka was officially opened with the cutting of a ribbon yesterday, by the chairman of Raffles Holdings, the president of Nankai Electric Railway Co and the CEO of Raffles International.
Situated in the busy entertainment and business district of Osaka, the 548-room Swissotel enjoys rooms of Osaka Bay. In an attempt to appeal to business travellers, the group has converted some of the rooms into ‘Swiss Business Advantage Rooms’ containing oversized desks with ergonomic chairs, two-line phone systems, high speed plug and play broadband access and in-room fax machines.
The Chairman of Raffles Holdings Limited, Mr Cheng Wai Keung, is excited about the group’s first foothold in the Japanese market:
“Expanding the presence of Raffles International in a major Japanese city such as Osaka, has been one of our major goals and the opening of this hotel is a significant milestone in our global growth strategy.”
Raffles International wants to see further growth of its brand in the Japanese market and will be looking for future development opportunities.
