Rank Group has confirmed that it remains on track to open "at least" 20 new G Casinos by the end of 2012 after posting a 5.7 per cent increase in revenue for the first half of 2010.
The company plans to convert three Grosvenor casinos to the G Casino brand during 2011 - Birmingham, Walsall and Plymouth, with one new venue also planned at Stockton-on-Tees. Further new G Casino sites are in line to open at Stockton, Oldbury and South Manchester during 2012. Smaller electronic casino concepts are proposed for Scarborough and Liverpool later this year.
In its interim half year results ending 30 June 2010, Rank Group posted a 12 per cent increase in customers and reduction in group debt, when compared with the same period in 2009. Rank Group chief executive Ian Burke said: "In spite of a challenging environment for consumer-facing businesses, the group has made sustained progress and enjoys a strong balance sheet."
