Renaissance Hotels expands Turkish portfolio with Istanbul property

Renaissance Hotels - the Marriott International-owned operator - has expanded its Turkish portfolio with the opening of the 212-bedroom Renaissance Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel.
The 20-storey property, which overlooks the Bosphorus River, is operated under a franchise agreement with Polat Holding and is located on the European side of the city.
Facilities at the hotel include a fitness centre housing an indoor swimming pool, a sauna and a steamroom, as well as a Turkish bath. The property also features a rooftop bar.
Amy McPherson, president and managing director for Marriott International in Europe, said: "Istanbul is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city where rich history and sublime architecture can be enjoyed alongside eclectic culture, arts and nightlife.
"Turkey offers tremendous opportunity for development, and we see huge potential for continued growth across all of our brands here."
