Renewable visitor centre for Renfrewshire
ScottishPower Renewables is building a visitor centre at Whitelee Windfarm on Eaglesham Moor in East Renfrewshire, just 20 miles from Glasgow.
Whitelee Visitor Centre will feature an exhibition on renewable power generation, the local environment and construction of the windfarm.
An education hub with specially trained staff will also enable both children and adults to learn more about the operation of windfarms and renewable energy.
Kirk Ramsay, CEO of Glasgow Science Centre (GSC), which will operate the new visitor attraction, said: "This is a unique partnership and we are proud to be managing the visitor centre at Europe's largest onshore windfarm.
"GSC is excited by the opportunity we've had to contribute to the planning and design of the exhibits and the centre. We'll be using our skills and knowledge to deliver an outstanding experience for visitors, whether for a leisure visit or to further the educational aims of the development when it opens in September."
A wider project called Whitelee Access will also provide 82km of roads and tracks with signage and on-site interpretation to provide the public with access to a range of activities such as walking, cycling and horseriding, as well as 25.5sq km protected habitat where wildlife can be observed.
A new ranger service will also promote greater use of the general Whitelee area.
Keith Anderson, director of ScottishPower Renewables, said: "Glasgow Science Centre brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this project and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.
"Whitelee is an amazing feat of engineering and we want to share that with as many people as possible."
