Restaurant Association wine tutorial
The 2008 Restaurant Association wine tutorial is this year supported by Mentzendorff, the UK agents for Maison Chanson Pere & Fils in Beaune, Burgundy.
Chanson is situated right in the heart of Beaune, the centre of the Burgundy region. The trip offers a tour of the cellars and vineyards as well as a tutored tasting and fine lunch with accompanying wines.
The cost of the trip is £380 and is fully inclusive of all visits, trips, meals, hotels, Easyjet flights and transport whilst in France. The trip is exclusively for BHA/RA members and early booking is recommended as places will be issues on a first come first served basis.
The house of Chanson was founded in 1750 by Simon Verry in the reign of Louis XV and the Cellars are located today as then in the Bastion de L’Oratoire, a defensive tower built at the end of the 15th Century. In the 19th Century the Chanson Family took control and expanded under the leadership of Alexis Chanson.
During the 1990s Chanson was purchased by the Bollinger family who have modernised the company, paying particular attention to the most important asset, the Terroir and have been rewarded by some of the finest Burgandies in recent vintages.
The trip will allow the privilege of tasting many! For more information on the trip and to receive a booking form please contact Gordan Clark on telephone: 01744 451 155
