Rethink to head up major redevelopment at Dubai’s Global Village
Fledging US-based company Rethink Leisure and Entertainment (RL&E) has scored an early success, having been drafted in to help reinvigorate Dubai’s family entertainment and cultural attraction, Global Village.
The newly-formed creator and producer of visitor experiences, resorts, and themed attractions –
headed up by former BRC Imagination Arts COO Scott Ault – is advising on a number of areas which the attraction can refresh as it bid to build further on its 4.5 million annual visitors.
For the past five months, RL&E has worked in conjunction with Global Village senior leadership to analyse and introduce guest service improvements and develop new attraction offerings.
This was the first step in a planned, multi-year redevelopment project to refresh the UAE location – which offers a wide range of multicultural entertainment from around the world, as well as 30 restaurants and more than 200 retail options.
“Global Village's iconic status in Dubai made it a true honour to have been chosen to help ensure its continued success,” said Rethink CEO Scott Ault.
Future plans call for significant revitalisation of major areas within the attraction, which moved to its current location on the outskirts of Dubai Land in 2005. There is also the intention to include permanent cultural pavilions for many of the nations already represented at the site, plus an expanded fun fair.
