Return of the historic Bessborough Trophy
The BHA is delighted to welcome back, after a short absence, the association‘s prestigious golf event, the Bessborough Trophy in association with Nestle Professional.
The trophy was donated by the Earl of Bessborough to the then Hotels and Restaurants Association of Great Britain in 1931. The Earl had been President of the Association for many years and was by the early 1930s, Governor General of Canada.
It was first played for at the association’s national conference held at the Palace Hotel, Buxton and was won by Mr J.G.R Orchard of the Royal Clarence Hotel, Exeter, seen here celebrating his victory.
Seventy-seven years later, the competition is now open to all members and companies working within foodservice and hospitality. This year’s will take place on the West Course at Wentworth on Monday 8 September 2008. From 2009, the event will grow to include four regional finals as well as the national final and we plan to run a joint golf event with the National Restaurant Association of America from 2010.
Places remain for 18 teams of four at a cost of £1,250 (+ vat) to include brunch, green fees, presentation dinner, refreshments and a gift for each team member.
As places are strictly limited, to register your interest please contact Camilla Woods on 020 740 4 7744 or email [email protected]
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this prestigious event please contact Camilla Woods for further information.
