Revamp for Birmingham hotel
The Macdonald Burlington Hotel in the heart of Birmingham city centre has received a £2m facelift.
The revamp was jointly funded by owners Hortons' Estate and operator Macdonald Hotels.
The hotel's bedrooms have been upgraded and three new executive bedrooms have been created on the fifth floor. The coffee lounge, reception and Berlioz bar have also been upgraded.
Formerly known as the Midland Hotel, the property was originally purchased in 1871 by Isaac Horton, and was the first property in what was to become the Hortons' Estate portfolio. It has been operated by Macdonald since 2004.
