Revamp for Gloucester centre
The Yate Leisure Centre in South Gloucestershire is to undergo a £1m revamp during the summer.
The work will include improving the health and fitness facilities and changing areas as well as the introduction of a new café and the upgrading of the soft play area.
The upgrade will be funded via a partnership arrangement between the South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust (SGLT), which operates the site, and the South Gloucestershire Council.
Facilities at the centre include a 25m swimming pool, a teaching pool, sports hall, a Bridges-branded health and fitness club, adventure play crèche, squash courts and bowls hall.
Mark Crutchley, chief executive of SGLT, said: “We aim to get the project completed with a minimum of disruption to our customers and facilities, which will remain open during the course of the work.”
