Revamp plans for Rhondda Cynon Taf towns
Aberdare, Mountain Ash and Treorchy are all in line to be overhauled after Rhondda Cynon Taf Council (RCTC) agreed to formally adopt regeneration strategies for the towns.
A £7.7m funding package for public realm and townscape improvements has been allocated to deliver the Aberdare proposals, including £2m from the Townscape Heritage Initiative. Meanwhile, expressions of interest for cash has been submitted to both the Welsh European Funding Office and the council to help deliver the other two strategies.
RCTC cabinet member for economic development and safer communities Paul Cannon said: "The investment in our town centres is evidence of the council's on-going efforts to improve the county borough for its residents and visitors alike."
