Revamped park unveiled in Hull
Hull's Sculcoates Park has been officially reopened by the city's Lord Mayor Karen Wood, following the completion of a major renovation of the facilities.
A floodlit basketball court, a cycle track and benches have been installed as part of the scheme, while a natural play area has also been created after the plans received National Lottery funding. Boulders, rocks and wooden stepping stones have been provided for young people, while government investment through the Playbuilder initiative has enabled Hull City Council to install equipment, including a climbing frame.
Wood said: "Play is an important part of growing up, and our children deserve the best play opportunities we can provide. Sculcoates Park used to be like a sleepy hollow, now it's bright, exciting and an asset to the neighbourhood."
