Right to roam threatens Skibo
Entrepreneur Peter de Savary is reportedly threatening to close Skibo Castle in the Highlands.
According to the Daily Mail he is incensed by the Scottish Executive's planned 'right to roam' bill.
The bill would entitle anyone to roam wherever they like in Scotland and de Savary has put his £22m development plan for Skibo on hold while he awaits the outcome next month.
Skibo Castle, a private and health and country club set in 7,500 acres near Dornoch, was the setting for Madonna and Guy Richie's wedding. De Savary claims that if the bill goes through it would threaten the privacy of his guests and he would be unable to hold such events at the castle in the future.
