Rinx project to go national after Xscape debut
A temporary themed ice rink known as the 'Rinx' project, is to be rolled out nationwide following its successful debut at Capital & Regional's Xscape, Milton Keynes this summer.
The project's seven backers - ARB, Aggreko UK, ARC Project Management, De Boer Structures, Party Design, The Ice Company and Resource Solutions - plan to take the concept to other leisure companies across the country after its success at Xscape.
Located in the Xscape car park, the ice rink had a Hawaiian theme with palm trees, beach huts and special lighting effects to tie in with Xscape's summer Caribbean 'chill out' theme. Originally only planned to open for 28 days during the summer, Xscape's chief executive, PY Gerbeau, said he was considering long term options for the rink.
