Ritz-Carlton Reserve to open first hotel in Mexico
Ritz-Carlton Reserve, the super luxury brand of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Group (RHG), will open its first property in Mexico's Baja Peninsula in 2015.
The project - which is a joint venture between RHG, Mexican resort developer Grupo Questro and Trinity Investments - will be located within the Puerto Los Cabos mixed-use development situated within the city limits of San Jose del Cabo. It will cover an area of 10 hectares (24,7 acres) and consist of 124 oceanfront private, single story villas (one, two and three-bedrooms).
Each villa will be fitted with a plunge pool, outdoor terrace with fireplace, outdoor shower and butler services. Guests at the hotel will also be able to utilise the features and amenities within Puerto Los Cabos.
These include the Wirukuta Botanical Desert Garden; Fundadores Beach Club with facilities such as a spa and fitness centre, infinity pool, restaurant and bar; a marina with 200 slips and two championship golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman.
RHG president Herve Humler said the inspiration for each Reserve property is taken from the unique environment in which each property is based. "The concept of the resort is simple and exudes style and luxurious levels of comfort. It will provide a private, exclusive leisure experience with unique elements of local culture, history and heritage," he added.
