Riu Hotel and Resorts has opened its second hotel in Costa Rica and the first of its luxury range - the Rui Palace Costa Rica.

Located on the edge of Matapalo beach in Guanacaste, the resort offers 538 rooms with each one featuring a hydromassage bathtub and balcony.

The Riu Renova Spa features a beauty salon, fitness centre, treatment rooms and a humid area. It also houses saunas, steamrooms, spa pools and relaxation rooms.

A range of signature treatments are on offer, including Renova Combination, the 80-minute treatment focusing on energy balance, mind and body tranquility and stress relief.

Guests have a choice four restaurants; the Japanese Tokio, the Italian L'Anfora, the Papagoyo grill-steakhouse and the modern Krystal restaurant.

The resort also boasts four pools, one of which has a swim-up bar.

The hotel also has five conference rooms and dedicated meeting spaces.
