Ronnie Scott’s reopens after £2.5m refurbishment
Ronnie Scott’s, the world-famous jazz club on Frith Street, London, has reopened after a three-month, £2.5m refurbishment.
The redesign, overseen by Parisian designer Jacques Garcia, features a new bar area, an upstairs private members’ bar, a new menu and disabled access.
Sally Greene, who also runs the Old Vic and Criterion theatres in London, bought Ronnie Scott’s from Pete King, who co-owned the club with Ronnie Scott until Scott’s death in 1996.
One of the biggest changes is the introduction of a smoking ban, which while it may upset some former regulars, is expected to be welcomed by many of the musicians who perform there. Details: www.ronniescotts.co.uk
