Russia-based BIN group in talks with Universal over Moscow theme park
Russia-based property group BIN is rumoured to be in talks with US entertainment giant NBC Universal with the view of building a Universal Studios theme park in Moscow.
According to a number of Russian media outlets, BIN is willing to spend RUB3bn (US$3bn, 2.4bn euro, £1.9bn) on the construction of the attraction at a 22-hectare (220,000sq m) site in the country's capital.
If the plans become reality, it is believed that Universal Studios Moscow could open as early as 2018. Universal currently operates five theme parks - two in the US (California and Florida) and one each in Japan and Singapore.
