Russian expansion for Country Inns
Rezidor SAS Hospitality has announced plans to extend its Country Inn brand into Russia.
Initially targeting Moscow, St Petersburg and other key regional capitals, the company's immediate aim is to sign up to a minimum of eight hotels over the next three years.
Over the next eight to 10 years, it hopes to increase this to 50 of its mid-range properties.
The project is a joint venture with Delta Capital Management, Swedfund and the Investment Fund for Central and Eastern Europe.
Redzidor currently operates five upper range Radisson SAS hotels in Russia and company president and CEO, Kurt Ritter, said: Russia offers tremendous growth opportunities but its mid-market hotel segment remains widely underserved. There is a growing demand for affordable, quality accommodation.
There are presently 325 Country Inns across the US and Europe.
