SHOKK rolls out youth fitness diploma
Youth fitness provider, SHOKK, has recently launched the SHOKK Youth Fitness Diploma for gym instructors of NVQ Level 2/3 equivalents and above.
Formulated to deal with young people in an active setting, the diploma consists of four modules which feature an introduction to the gym setting, free weight and functional training, Olympic lifting and complex training.
It also covers a range of other child-related concerns, from physiological, psychological and sociological considerations to child protection issues.
The course is the first of its kind to be rated by SPRITO, it has been endorsed by the REPs and has also gained recognition from specialist groups like REACH (Research into Exercise, Activity and Children’s Health) and BASES (British Association of Sport and Exercise Scientists).
According to SHOKK brand manager, Kieran Murphy, the company is currently rolling it out nationally to Esporta fitness staff and a number of local authority leisure centres. Details: +44 (0)161 772 5404 or www.shokk.co.uk
