Sheffield International Venues (SIV) has taken over the management of the Lakeland Initiative in Fitness, Excellence and Wellbeing (LIFE) Swimming Pool and Leisure Centre at Troutbeck, Windermere.

SIV, through its subsidiary company SIV Enterprises Limited (SEL), will also help LIFE develop a masterplan for a newly proposed Leisure Hub in Troutbeck Bridge, near Windermere, via the year-long contract.

Wet and dry facilities in the proposed Leisure Hub will include an 80 station fitness suite, three separate aerobics studios, 25m eight-lane swimming pool, with a floating floor and spectator seating for regional galas plus an indoor climbing wall.

he new sustainable building will also provide a local district heating system to serve the adjacent Lakes school and local residential communities using the modular combined heat and power unit linked to the pool.

SIV will advise LIFE on operational standards and procedures, staff training, health and safety, sales and marketing, programming, audits and finance for the existing and newly proposed centres with a dedicated member of the SIV team being based at the centre for a few days each month.
