SLM introduces dance and gymnastics brand
Sports and Leisure Management Ltd (SLM), is to roll out Total Dance and Total Gymnastics across its portfolio of leisure centres.
The brands, which are owned by Sport and Dance Holdings, will be introduced at 29 leisure centres.
The launch will see dance and gymnastics taught in the leisure centres for children aged between four and 16.
Total Gymnastics, fronted by World Champion gymnast, Beth Tweddle, has been designed to provide opportunities for children aged 4-11 to get involved with gymnastics.
The aim is to engage with the children and get them active while also helping them to develop the key aspects of flexibility, balance, discipline and core stability.
The second new strand, Total Dance, is based on the disciplines of street dance and hip hop and the programmes have been put together by choreographer Danny Price.
Aimed at children from eight to 16 years, Total Dance is about using dance to engage with children and help them to express themselves and socialise through dance and movement.
Michelle Bletso, group exercise manager for SLM, said: "Total Gymnastics and Total Dance will help to engage with children and get them into non-traditional forms of activity."
Lessons will cost £50 for a 10-week period and will run for 50 weeks of the year.
