Saracens signs short-term deal with Watford
Saracens rugby union club has secured a new short-term agreement with Watford Football Club (WFC) that will see it play home games at Vicarage Road during the 2011-12 season.
Negotiations over Saracens' proposed move to the refurbished Copthall Stadium in Barnet remain ongoing, with the club to play at least 10 fixtures in Watford next season. WFC owner Laurence Bassini said: "They approached us to see if we could take into account their current situation with regard to their ongoing Copthall Stadium negotiations.
"Given the long-standing relationship between Watford and Saracens, it is only right that we considered their request." Meanwhile, Saracens has revealed that more than 7,000 letters of support have been lodged with Barnet Council in support of the plans to transform Copthall Stadium.
