Scone Palace celebrates Bruce anniversary
Robert the Bruce’s inauguration to the Scottish throne took place on Scone Palace’s Moot Hill in Scotland 700 years ago.
To commemorate the event, Scone Palace, near Perth, has arranged a number of events, culminating with a Pageant Weekend.
Taking place between 29 April and 1 May, the weekend will include spectacular exhibitions of jousting by the renowned Devils’ Horsemen, a re-enactment of the inauguration ceremony, falconry demonstrations.
There will also be a series of outdoor living history performances when Robert the Bruce will tell the story of his road to the Scottish crown, and talk about his life, his family, William Wallace and his hopes for Scotland.
Further information on all the events taking place is available on the website www.scone-palace.co.uk
