Scotch Whisky Experience to undergo £2m revamp
The Scotch Whisky Experience, a visitor attraction on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile, is undergo a £2m refurbishment.
A new barrel ride and interactive exhibits will be installed, while other new elements will include a child-friendly tour and a new bar with panoramic views across the south of the city.
The attraction, which was given a five-star rating by VisitScotland, was set up when the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre was launched in 1987, when 19 individual whisky companies invested in the venture.
Construction is expected to close in October for works to begin and the centre will reopen in March 2009.
