Scottish Water seeks investors for Loch Katrine complex
Scottish Water says it hopes to 'create the finest visitor attraction in Scotland' in Scotland's first national park.
The company is inviting investors to enter into a joint venture arrangement to operate the SS Sir Walter Scott, the last remaining inland screw-driven steam ship in Scotland, a gift shop, a cycle-hire business and restaurant.
The steam ship sails at the Loch Katrine Tourist Complex in the Trossachs with visitor numbers averaging 180,000 per annum. Scottish Water estimates a projected number of 450,000 per annum as realistic after refurbishment.
The company says it expects investors to be interested in a range of additional income opportunities such as additional catering facilities, a corporate event venue, increasing the passenger capacity of the SS Sir Walter Scott and various outdoor activities.
