Second annual English Tourism Week launches
The second annual English Tourism Week has been launched by tourism minister Hugh Robertson on the Thames, with a view to promote the value of the £97bn industry at the national and local level.
Robertson joined VisitEngland chairwoman Lady Cobham, London & Partners chairwoman Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas and tourism businesses aboard the Dixie Queen Paddle Steamer for the launch.
English Tourism Week runs from 16 to 24 March and includes events, competitions and promotions at attractions, hotels and other tourism businesses across the country.
