Selsdon Park Hotel gets extended
Croydon council has given the go-ahead for a £5m extension and refurbishment of Selsdon Park Hotel & Golf Club in South Croydon, London.
The 200-bed hotel, situated in 205-acres of parkland, is soon to acquire a new 88-bed, single-storey development and the existing leisure facilities will be converted into meeting and conference rooms. A new leisure club will also be created to replace the old facilities and will feature an indoor swimming pool, a gym and a spa including a solarium, steam room and sauna.
The developers and hotel operator Principle Hayley has appointed EPR Architects to design the extension.
The hotel, which dates back as far as 861AD, is accompanied by a JH Taylor designed, 6,473-yard, 18-hole championship golf course and driving range. There is also an outdoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, squash courts and croquet as well as an informal restaurant with a terrace area, which will also be extended as part of the development.
