Seminar on Illegal Workers Announced by Employability Forum
A seminar examining practical measures hospitality operators can take to avoid employing illegal workers has been launched by the Employability Forum.
Members of the British Hospitality Association (BHA) are encouraged to attend the meeting, which will take place on Monday, 11 December 2006 from 10.30am to 1.30pm at CMS Cameron McKenna, Mitre House, 160 Aldersgate Street, London, EC1A 4DD.
A number of companies have agreed to share their experience under ‘Chatham House’ rules, and a senior official from the Immigration and Nationality Directorate of the Home Office will update attendees on the current thinking in Government.
The presentations will include:
• Developing robust systems to verify identity and permission to work: by Gordon McLardy, director of risk management, National Car Parks • Managing the process and impact of Home Office enforcement exercises: by Charlie Bigham, founder, Bighams and Holly Lowes-Bond, HR manager, Conran Restaurants
Space at the seminar is limited, so interested parties should respond to Beryl Randall at the address above or via email to [email protected] by Friday 1 December 2006.
The Employability Forum is an independent organisation that promotes the employment of refugees and the integration of migrant workers in the UK.
